Learnidia is an AI-powered English academy. Our lessons, conversations, feedback and explanations are generated by artificial intelligence. This page explains what that means for you and for children who learn with us.

Where AI is used

AI generates or assists with:

AI teacher chat in courses, life scenarios and the classroom;
speaking, pronunciation and spoken-feedback practice, including speech-to-text and text-to-speech;
writing correction and vocabulary or grammar explanations;
games, quizzes, crosswords and conversation scenarios;
progress reports and learning recommendations;
the Learnidia Weekly newsletter, which is AI-drafted and reviewed before publication.

AI can make mistakes

AI language models occasionally produce answers that are inaccurate, out of date, or confusingly worded. Always double-check important information with a teacher, parent, or another trusted source before relying on it.

Not a substitute for a qualified teacher

Learnidia is a study companion, not a replacement for a qualified English teacher, certified exam preparation, therapist, medical or legal professional. If you need professional advice, please contact a qualified person in your country.

Exam preparation is independent practice

Our IELTS, OET and PTE material is independently produced practice content. Learnidia is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by the organisations that own those examinations, and any band or score estimate is indicative practice feedback, not an official result.

Child-safety commitments

For learners under 13, Learnidia enforces additional safety rules at the system level. Our AI teachers are instructed to never:

ask for a child's address, phone number, school name, passwords, photos or financial information;
encourage meeting anyone in person;
ask the child to keep secrets from parents or teachers;
discuss romantic, sexual, violent, or otherwise age-inappropriate topics.

If a conversation touches bullying, self-harm, abuse, or safety concerns, the AI is instructed to encourage the child to speak with a trusted adult and to share appropriate helpline information (e.g. Childline 0800 1111 in the UK, 988 in the US). These messages are also logged for the parent to review.

Parental consent (children 7–12)

In line with COPPA (US), GDPR-K (EU) and equivalent laws, we require verifiable parental consent before AI features are enabled for any child under the applicable age. The parent creates the account, confirms their email address, and can revoke consent at any time from the parent dashboard.

Minimal data for children

Children never provide an email address. We collect only what is necessary to give age-appropriate learning: nickname, month and year of birth, avatar, favourite colour and a learning goal. We do not collect home address, phone number, school, national ID or exact location.

Voice, recordings and memory

Speaking practice may record short voice clips for feedback. Learnidia may remember preferences and progress to make lessons feel personal. Parents can view and delete memories and recordings from the parent dashboard.

Your responsibility

By using Learnidia you accept that AI output may contain errors, that Learnidia is a learning aid rather than a professional advisor, and that important decisions should be verified with a human expert. If you are a parent, you accept responsibility for supervising your child's use of the service and enforcing safe device practices at home.
