Course questions, answered
Which course to start with, how you move up, what the free trial opens, and how the exam tracks differ — in plain English.
Choosing your course
How do the three pathways work?
Every learner joins one pathway and follows one course ladder. Independent Learner (Ages 18+): British curriculum English by school year — Years 7–13 and beyond, from Key Stage 3 through GCSE / IGCSE and A-Level to advanced university English. Aspiring Learner (Ages 18+): A complete, flexible English pathway for everyday life, work and confidence — no school year or grade required. Professional (Ages 18+): Exam preparation that follows the real test format — IELTS, OET, PTE, TOEFL and Business English — with Public Speaking.
Which course should I start with?
You don't have to guess your level. Your pathway, age and school year place you on the right rung of the ladder when you sign up, and each course ends with a level exam that decides when you move up. If the work feels easy, take the exam and move up; if it feels hard, stay a little longer — the review games cover what you missed.
How long does a course take?
Most courses run six to eight weeks at 15 to 20 minutes a day, and every course page shows its own length. Short daily sessions beat long weekend ones, because spaced review is what makes language stick.
What happens when I finish a course?
You sit the level exam for that course. Clear it and the next course on your ladder unlocks, so you always know what to open next. Certificates are collected on the Certificates page.
Can I change my course or pathway later?
Your pathway is chosen at sign-up from your age and your goals. If it turned out wrong for you, tell us on the contact page and we will put you on the right ladder.
Exams and tracks
What is the difference between a course and an exam track?
Level courses (A1 to C2) build general English step by step. Exam tracks — IELTS, OET, PTE, TOEFL and Business English — practise the task types of a real test, with timed practice, mock papers and practice reports, alongside the same daily routine.
Do you prepare for TOEFL?
Yes. The TOEFL preparation course covers listening conversations and academic talks, academic reading, sentence building and summary writing, and timed speaking, with a weekly practice paper and a raw-accuracy report. These are Learnidia study sets, not an official ETS test, and we never show an estimated official score.
Do you prepare for IELTS, OET or PTE?
Yes — dedicated tracks with mock tests, timed practice and practice band or score reports, plus the same short daily sessions.
Are the tutors and teachers real people?
No. Every named guide on Learnidia — Emma, James, Sarah, Oliver and Sophia — is an AI tutor: a computer-generated teaching persona with an AI voice. They are not real people, they are never online, and you cannot chat freely with them. Every lesson, dialogue and scenario is scripted learning material prepared and reviewed in advance, and marking is automated.
Trial, price and access
Can I try a course before paying?
Yes. Learnidia offers a 3-day free trial, once per email address, with no card needed — not an ongoing free plan. During the trial, two games are playable — the Café Life Scenario and the Classroom conversation in the Games Hub — with 5 minutes of play each in total. Mind Games are not included in the trial. Paid plans start immediately and unlock all games and scenarios in these three areas.
Is there a permanent free plan?
No. The 3-day trial is the free option, once per email address, with no card needed. Paid plans start immediately after: €5 for one month, €12 for three months, €22 for six months and €40 for twelve months.
Which currency will I be charged in?
Prices are shown and charged in your local currency — AED, GBP, USD, PKR and others — based on where you are opening the site, converted from the euro prices above. VAT is included.
Who can sign up?
Learnidia is for adults aged 18 and over — you confirm your age when you sign up. A family access code lets another adult use the same account on their own device; codes are entered in the Apply a code box on the dashboard, checkout and billing pages.
Can I use Learnidia on my phone?
Yes. Learnidia installs as an app on Android, iOS and desktop, so a lesson fits into a commute or a queue. The install page gives the two-minute setup.
